What is Proforma invoice?
Proforma Invoices are quite simply quotations used to resemble commercial invoices. They are often rendered in advance of shipment, in order to obtain pre-payment, or arrange for Letters of Credit.
Like a correctly prepared commercial invoice, a Pro Forma Invoice will include the customer's name and address, any "drop-ship" parties if different from the customer, the terms of the sale and the terms of the payment.
It should itemize each item quantity with its unit price as well as an extension for each item quoted.
Items totals should also be included.
